Come out sun...

The sun is trying to come out today but the clouds keep fighting back.  It is a cloudy, rainy day so making a bright happy card seemed in order.

I used the deer stamp by "the greeting farm" and distress ink spun sugar for the background.  The distress Inks are really cool in how they can color the background around the stamp with such a light cotton-like appearance.  It creates a great effect.

Hope the sun is shining where you are?

Smokin...

Here is my smokin... birthday card!  He/She could have been colored all green but I wanted the dragon to have more color and dimension to him/her so I added pink in the ears and tan along the body.  Colors can make the digi fun or dark or sweet.  Use color to create the feel you want for your card.

Have a great day!

Hearts and Flowers

Kaboodle Doodles is having a great challenge this week.  The challenge is hearts and flowers.  Well I had to make a Spring card with hearts and flowers of course using a pure innocence digi.

With this card I wanted to try something different.  The pure innocence little girl is on a swing so I felt it needed to really swing.  LOL  What do you think?

Simple Card

Good Evening Everyone!  I just finished working on a simple birthday card.  I used a stamp by Lori Designs.  The simple stamps are easy to color and fun to use.  A simple embossed background, a few pop dots, ribbon, twine and buttons along with this stamp make up this simple card.

There is something about the combination of orange and brown.  They work so well together don't you think?

The sun is out!

Today I woke up to a bright and sunny day!  The sun really brightens my day.  I have been finding a lot of beautiful digi stamps to work with lately and can't wait to post cards using all the stamps.

This card is made using a C & C pixie stamp.  This is such a sweet stamp and it was fun to color.  Spring feels like it is coming with the sun hanging out with me today.

This card is entered into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz - Spring has sprung
Digital Tuesday - use die cuts
Papertake Weekly - putting on the glitz

Pennant Swap

Good Morning Everyone,

I received special permission to share some of the ladies lovely work from the Spring Pennant Swap on a Message Board with you today.  I love doing the swaps with the ladies.  They all create such lovely things and a lot of times it gives me new ideas for things to add to my own work.  Great Job Ladies!!  The pennants were made using the Quickutz large cookie cutter pennant except where noted.  You can click on the photo for a larger view.

So here they are in no particular order:

This pennant was created by:  Cookie Jar Scraps

(She used fabric to make her flowers which is something I need to try.)

This pennant was created by: Casunflower

(I love her combination of colors on her pennant.  Perfect for spring!)

This pennant was created by: Crazy4Pink

(Love the flourish she uses on her pennant!  A great accent.)

This pennant was also created by: Crazy4Pink

(This pennant is just adorable!  I have to make some of these.)
It was made from a quickutz 4x4 pennant die.

This pennant was made by: Basketlady

(Just love the butterfly on a wire accent!  Another thing I need to try out.)

Thank you Ladies for sharing!  Have a great day everyone!

Sweet Spring

Hello,  yes I am still here.  LOL Things were a little crazy here the last couple of days with the snow and ice.  Power outages, schools closed, businesses closed and it was cold.  We made it through the other side to a cold and sunny day!  Love seeing the sun out.

I made this pennant for a swap with some lovely ladies on the Scrapyland Message board.  It was fun to work on because the theme was Spring.  Who doesn't love looking forward to Spring when there is snow outside.

I used a Unity strawberry stamp, cricut cartridge Hello Kitty Greetings (my favorite cart), Quickutz penannt die, Lifestyle crafts scalloped circle cookie cutter die, copic markers 0, G03,E31, and R24.

Soon we will be able to say "Ah Sweet Spring is here".
