Valentine's Tree Decoration

February is almost here and I wanted to get this decoration made so I can put it up in my house.  I made a Valentine's tree decoration to show you.

This is a very simple project using the following a twig tree, silk roses, painted wooden hearts in red and white, valentine's ribbon, red bows, and tin hearts in red and white.  (Floral wire, wire cutters and hot glue gun not shown here).

I wound the ribbon around the tree and hot glued it in place.  Using floral wire, I tied on the red ribbons and silk roses (that were cut from the bunch using wire cutters).  The wooden painted hearts were hot glued on to the tree.  The tin hearts were hung on the tree because they came with hangers.  The finished project is shown above.  Easy quick valentine's decoration.

This project was featured on Joyful Stamper's Inspire Me Fridays!  See post here.

Valentine's Yo Yo Table Runner

Are you into home made table runners?  Well, do I have a project for you.  This project is using linked fabric yo yo's to make a table runner.  This is something I have been making for years and years so I have a lot of different designs.

First,  you need to get at least three yards of your favorite cotton fabric.  The fabrics that work the best are ones that have a  design with a small print.  That way the images will be clearly shown on the small face of the yo yo.  This is the fabric I chose for this project.

To start, wash and iron your fabric.  Then, turn the fabric to the wrong side and using a bowl, small plate, or cup trace circles onto the fabric.  You are going to need a lot of circles.  The smaller the item you use to trace your circles the smaller your yo yo's and the more you will need to complete your project.

Once all your circles are traced onto the fabric, you can start cutting them all out.

Ok.  Now that you have a pile of circles and the next step is to stitch them closed.  Fold over the edge of the circle so that the fold is on the wrong side of the fabric and then sew on the fold like in the photo above.

Pull the strings tight then tie the ends together to close the circle. Right side out.

Flatten the circle, then sew them together on four sides like shown above.

When you have enough circles sewn together to fit the size you want you are finished.  Turn the circles over to hide all the stitching and decorate as you wish.  These can be really fun and add a great look to your table for any holiday.

Take care!

For this challenge I have created the following cards:

Recipe:
Stamp - Snowman Bring it on! from The Stamping Boutique
Icicle border - MFT
Paper - DCWV Linen Closet
Liquid Applique

I wanted to try something different for this challenge.  I do so love snowman and snowflakes.  I used the Cricut cartridge - winter lace to make the large snowflake on this card.  I used the snowflake embossing folder from Cuttlebug and the image is from Hambo Stamps called Snowman sled. I have been waiting for just the right challenge to use this image and, of course, a little white glitter from Martha Stewart for the snow.

Instead of blues I just had to try purples.  I love the result.

So please show us your snowman/snowflake card at www.craftingforallseasons.blogspot.com

Quick and Easy Knitting

Hello Everyone,

It is early in the morning here and I just wanted to pull out some of my winter projects that I did not finish from last winter.  Shh.. Don't tell anyone but yes I have a ton of unfinished project not just winter ones.  I am just happy to be finishing the two I pulled out of my collection.

The first one is a slim scarf I was making for one of my kids.  They just love the lightweight slim ones.

It is almost done and still on the knifty knitter from Provo Craft.  I have quite a few of these knifty knitters in different sizes and shapes.  I don't really know how to knit in the traditional sense.  I would love to learn but wouldn't know where to start.  So I have opted for the easy way.

My second project is a knitted belt for my daughter.  She loves to have weird and different belts and this seems to work for her.

Yes, this one is also still on the knifty knitter but just needs to be taken off the device.  Then it will be done.

Check these knifty knitters out.  You can make all kinds of quick projects with these lovely products.  I used something like the pink knifty knitter above as a kid so that should tell you how easy they are to use.

Will post pictures when they are all done.

Hugs!
